SANTA CLARA PLAN

The Santa Clara Plan is a master plan to guide future growth within the Pueblo and will aid the Pueblo in acquiring funding for future development projects. The plan incorporates the culture, values and history of the Santa Clara Pueblo while simultaneously addressing modern day social, physical, and economic constraints.

We surveyed and interviewed Pueblo residents and held five public work sessions to establish community priorities and goals. A full analysis of physical constraints and opportunities determined the most suitable land for future development. Scenarios of future development patterns and their impacts were created and discussed. The plan addresses issues of community connectivity, neighborhood and housing patterns, relocation of administrative and service centers, agricultural revitalization, historic and cultural preservation, and sustainable opportunities for integrating renewable energy, water conservation, and low-impact development methodologies.
